Where do we start?

Craig and I are so excited to begin our blog journey here with you.  We are so blessed!  It's always so exciting to see the Lord's hand at work in our lives.  He's been moving in such mighty ways lately! We have a lot on our hearts that we want to share here with you!  The Lord has brought us to a new beginning. Hallelujah!  Our journey, that began with years of praying and many hours of research and discussion, continues here in this very much more public forum.  This will be new for us,  but we think that this will be the best way to keep all of our friends and family updated as we progress.  Progress?  Progress through what you ask?  That's the best part!  I'm so pleased to share with you that we are EXPECTING!  Well, maybe not in the way that you imagine.  We are preparing to ADOPT... It gets better!  We will be submitting to adopt a sibling group of up to three children.  "THREE CHILDREN!!?!", yeah, pick up your jaw, you read that right!

We can't wait to share our hearts about this here on our blog in the future.  Craig and I both will be taking time to regularly update our family blog.  You’ll hear much more “out of the overflow of our hearts”! For now...know this...we don't have all of the details yet.  We don't have all of the answers.  The important thing is that we are in constant discussion with each other and our Heavenly Father who loves our 3 precious biological children, and our future "grafted in" children even more than we can imagine loving them.   Hard to fathom, I know, but true.  His loving hand is covering us all through this journey and we will fully trust him.  Our goal as a family is His glory. In our victories, trials and even our failures, we will glorify Him.

I know many of you have LOTS of questions.  We will be sharing openly on this blog and we welcome your comments and questions (yes Sandy, edits too).  One of the great tools for research was our ability to read through other people's entire adoption journeys on their blogs.  We have been able to understand some of the roadblocks and difficulties that folks encounter along the adoption path.  But through these blogs we've also been able to share in the joys and highs that come from growing your family in the Lord!  We already feel love for 3 children we've never met and we pray you'll grow to love them too.

 In the meantime, we covet your prayers.  Here are some things that you can join us in prayer about;

1.  That our lives would be a pleasing offering to the Lord and that He would be glorified in this process no matter what the outcome for us.

2.  That the Lord would prepare mine, Craig's and our children's hearts for this wonderful metamorphosis that our family is about to undergo.  Specifically we pray protection over our biological children.  Even though they are excited, we all know that there will be difficulty at times while we transition from a family of 5 to possibly a family of 8.

3.  Pray for the safety of our "future children".  We pray for their physical needs to be met, but we also are praying that the Lord is placing loving people around them.  People that will look them in the eyes, smile at them and love them until they can come home.

4.  Finances.  There are many details that we are trusting the Lord with, this is one that may be the most difficult.  This is an expensive process.  We will be doing a lot of praying, brainstorming, saving and fundraising to raise the dough needed to bring the little guys home.

5.  Last, but so importantly, we have been praying that the Lord would give us discerning hearts (and minds).  We pray that He will clearly open and close doors as he would have us proceed.  We pray that not only will He open and close those doors, but we will recognize and accept the "no's" that sometimes we like to pretend we didn't hear from the Lord.

We are grateful for the love and support of those dear to us.  We've already been so blessed by some of your reactions as we've shared our dreams with you.  Thanks for coming alongside us!
